I am a piano player and songwriter. I sing only because I need someone to sing my songs. I have a wonderful family, my beautiful wife Kristen, and three wonderful children!
Some people have asked about getting the songs in mp3 format for their iPod or whatever. Go to iLike.com, type in Gordon Garner, and you'll find all my songs available for free download.
I'm pretty happy with this song. I had the mic gain set to high when I did the vocals, so you may notice some "clipping" in the chorus. I tried to soften it the best I could in Audacity, but there's no real way to fix it. A new lesson learned. Anyway... here.
This is a nice upbeat song. I really need to re-do the vocal track, with this song particularly I had some pitch issues. Oh well... I'm a songwriter not a performer(:
OK, so this song has a sad feel to it, but I like to think of it as a happy song. The idea for this song came from some comments I heard from two different people who had just lost a loved one. They spoke of how the experience helped them find belief in God. I'd like to have done another take on the vocal track, but didn't get to it. Let me know what you think...
I wrote this song just a couple of days ago, so I haven't spent much time on the lyrics. I think they need some more work, and maybe another verse. I was pretty happy with the recording, other than the phrase "like a November Rose", where I sound like an Italian Mobster. Don't know where that came from. Oh well. This song of course, is about my beautiful wife! I love her so much!! Now open for criticism and suggestions....
I wrote the music for this song. The lyrics come from Lord Byron's poem "She Walks In Beauty". I'm pretty happy with it. Its in AAA format, which means it runs the risk of being repetitive and getting boring. I think that the amazing lyrics by Lord Byron help avoid this problem, but I have considered maybe adding a bridge to the song. Only problem is, I'm out of lyrics. So I would either have to repeat a section of the poem, or write my own lyrics for the bridge. By the way, that is my beautiful wife in the video, and there's one shot with her holding our son.
